Making Valentines with Friends

Hi everyone, Rainie here!  This weekend me and my friends Kanani and Anne got together to make Valentines. We had so much fun together!
We crafted Valentines and chatted while snacking on milk and Valentines cookies.
Sweet conversation hearts to hide inside the cards...and to eat. XD
Anne's writing a friendship card to McKenna.  "We need more pink hearts, glitter, and lace!".
Kanani decorates a cute heart for her cousin Rachel, who lives in New York City, and a card for her friend Celina from her old home in Kaua'i Hawaii.
And I cut out a card for my new friend, Caroline.
Uh-oh, looks like someone wants to "help" with the Valentines too. XD
"Chocolate Chip, don't eat the Valentines!  I know you want to help, but maybe you can go play with the pets for now".  I guess he just wanted attention.  <3
Anne's in love with her cool new "shades".  XD
After we were done, we got some giant Valentine's cookies.  Yum!
...and Anne finally got her pink, glittery heart.  XD
The pets have Valentine's too!  Here's Praline and Chocolate Chip.
Sweet Honey and "spicy" Ginger.
Coconut and Licorice wish you a Happy Valentine's Day!  <3
Kanani poses for a cute photo.  :)
Like the Beatles said, All you need is LOVE.  <3
The end, I hope you enjoyed the post!  Hope you all had a Happy Valentine's Day!

A Friend from the Sea

Hi everyone!  Today I made a new friend who just moved in down the street. Her name's Caroline Marie Abbott, and she's very sweet.
Today on this cold winter morning I decided to stay inside and read.  Then I heard someone at the door: *Knock-knock*  "Who could that be?" I wondered.
"Hello, I'm Caroline, and I just moved here. I don't really know anyone yet, so I'd like to start making some friends before school on Tuesday." the girl with long, blonde curls kindly explained.

"Hi, I'm Lorraine, but you can call me Rainie. Why don't you come inside, it's freezing out here!  Do you want to have some tea and muffins?" I asked the girl, Caroline. "Sure, I'd love that!" she replied, walking in the door.
We sat inside sipping raspberry tea and eating blueberry muffins, chatting and getting to know each other.
Caroline use live by the sea Sackets Harbor, NY.  She also has a kitten, Inkpot.  Caroline told me he's very mischievous and often got into trouble.  His most common way to cause trouble was spilling over the ink bowl, and once he fell into it, gaining the name Inkpot.  "Haha, that's funny!  You should bring him over sometime, I love cats!" I told her.
Pretty soon, it was time for her to head home.  I promised to introduce her to the girls at school, and invited her to come over to work on homework together sometime.  "Great, I'd love that!" Caroline cheerfully replied.
We waved goodbye and I went inside, smiling that I made a new friend.
The end! I hope you enjoyed the story, and thank you for visiting my blog!  See you soon, and I hope you're all having a not-so-cold winter!  Remember, spring's around the corner! ;)

Merry Christmas to All

Hello everyone, Rainie here!  I can't believe it's Christmas- time sure does fly by fast!  On Christmas Eve I left out milk and cookies for Santa, and carrots outside for the reindeer.
I woke up early Christmas morning to many presents from Santa and my family under the tree.  I quickly got out of bed and put on my new Christmas dress.  Isn't it pretty?
I rushed downstairs to the Christmas tree, closely followed by my kitten Ginger, who also enjoyed receiving new gifts like cat toys(I think she was mostly excited about playing with the wrapping paper though, haha! :D). I couldn't wait to tear through the wrapping paper and see what I got!
But before I opened anything, I read the real Christmas story about baby Jesus to my family next to
the  tree.  Remember- Jesus is the reason for the season!
Time to dig in!  I spied a familiar rectangle-shaped box hiding behind the tree.  Is it what I think it is?
It is!  It's the new American Girl doll, Isabelle Palmer!  She's so pretty, and she has super-cool pink dyed hair.  Also, she's a dancer like me!  I can't wait to read her book too.
Next I opened a smaller box.  Wonder what's in here...
A new American Girl doll dress for my dolls!  And it's pink and green-my favorite colors!  I've always wanted a fancier dress for my dolls.  I think Marie-Grace will wear it first.
                                                              Time for a new present-this one's heavy.
Wow, a microscope!  I've always wanted one of these!  Now I can look at bugs and leaves up close in the spring/summer!
Soon I 'd opened all my presents.  The rest were: a cute, cuddly teddy bear, a new alarm clock, the Felicity book series(SO excited to read these! :D),a new set of earrings, a soft, fluffy bathrobe, and a flower collar and mouse toy for Ginger.
Hey!  Looks like someone's enjoying the bathrobe more than I am.  Ginger, don't chew the tie!
Even though there's no more presents left under the tree, it still looks lovely.  After all, Christmas isn't just about the gifts you receive.  It's about love and giving, and the gift of family. And of course, the birth of  baby Jesus.
The end, hope you enjoyed the post!   I hope you all had a great Christmas, or another holiday you celebrate.  I can't believe it's almost spring- winter flew by fast(even though it didn't seem like it)!  Merry(late) Christmas to all, and to all a goodbye.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Hi everyone!  It's that time of the year again- Christmas!   Me and my friends have been getting ready for the holidays by baking cookies, decorating trees, wrapping presents, and more.  The other day Jess, Anne, and I baked a ginger bread house and delicious cookies.
Yummy candies to decorate long as Jess doesn't eat them all!
                                                                        Decorating with frosting "snow".
Anne adds some sparkle with colorful sprinkles.
All done!  It looks too pretty to eat!

Well, at least it does to Anne and I.  Jess wants to "try" some.  Better put it somewhere safe! XD
Next we baked some Christmas cookies.
                                                                            Don't forget the chocolate chips!
While the cookies were baking, we decorated the tree.
Look at all these ornaments to hang up.  Good thing I have the help of my friends!
All done!  Doesn't it look beautiful?
                                                                   *Ding* The cookies are done!
"Testing" them out for Santa.  I'll only take one...or two...
We can't wait for Christmas!  It's my favorite holiday, and I love celebrating the birth of baby Jesus, spending time with family and friends, all the beautiful decorations, and presents on Christmas day. ~Anne and "Rainie"
"And cookies!!" ~Jess XD
The end!  Hope you enjoyed the story, and thank you for visiting my blog!  See you soon, and hope you all had a happy holiday/merry Christmas!     ~Loraine/Rainie
